Family Therapy for Better Communication, Understanding & Connection
Family Therapy holds that families do know how to help themselves but have become stuck in unhelpful roles and patterns of communication.
This can be especially true at transitional stages of family life such as children entering their teens.
Stuck families tend to feel they are walking on eggshells around each other with a lot of assuming and misunderstanding each other’s intentions.

I can help you have the conversations that are needed but you may not feel able to have, to work on improving communication and relationships.

My Approach
I provide a safe, supportive space where everyone can have a voice, feel heard and gain insight into each other’s perspectives.
Family therapy is not about me telling you what to do; rather I work with you to identify your goals and find your way through as a family.
I use an evidence-based approach to help you reach new understandings, reconnect and strengthen relationships.
About Me
I am a Registered Nurse and have worked for the Child, Adolescent and Family (CAF) Specialist Mental Health Service for over 30 years.
In this time, I have worked in both In-patient and Out-patient settings, but always with a focus on the family/whanau system the young person is part of.
I have extensive knowledge and experience as a member of the dedicated Family Therapy Team over the last 13 years, and as team lead over the last 3 years.
